Me being totally ignorant of where the name of one of my new colleagues just might be coming from...

Anyway, he told me today that he was surprised to see, a few weeks ago at our Retro, that I was wearing a hoodie that has a few words in Arabic on. He asked me today if I knew what they said, and I said I did, but only because I googled them when I first bought the hoodie. I was wearing it again today, and he can read it.

I told him that it's a band hoodie, that the band is #OrphanedLand from Israel, and that they stand for a peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Jews.

I love the song, and aside from the refrain mentioning hands, hands also feature prominently in the music video. Mostly as fists, specifically.

#ContentWarning though. The video uses an infamous image of a dead child on a beach. The band has a message, and they're not being subtle about it.
