🔍 Interessante Infos betreffend #opensource !

Bei den #openwashed E-Mail-Diensten wie Tuta Mail [https://isitreallyfoss.com/projects/tuta/] und Proton Mail [https://isitreallyfoss.com/projects/proton-mail/] sind nur die Clients offen, nicht die Server.

Es gibt gute Gründe dafür (z.B. Geschäftsmodell, Überprüfbarkeit), aber das hat Auswirkungen auf #Privatsphäre und #digitaleSouveränität der Nutzer. Ohne eine Erklärung dieser Konsequenzen wird der Begriff #offeneSoftware zum «buzz word».

You're absolutely right: self-hosting and nomadic persona are the core pillars for online software freedom.

But we can't work towards self-hosting and nomadic persona with platforms that are #openwashed.
