I started playing #OldWorld: https://www.gog.com/en/game/old_world
First impression: Ooh, they have an "explain concepts while playing an actual game" tutorial, that sounds a lot better than the tired step-by-step thing!
Second impression: Eep, what happened? I thought I clicked on the settler unit, but it seems to have built a city already? I didn't want to build it there, I wanted to look around a bit first to pick the ideal spot! => quits and moves to the regular tutorial.
Turns out you can only build cities in small specific regions - but do have some choice of where to place them exactly, and I hadn't actually placed it, but the UI showed something which seemed like a placed city. I guess I need the handholding of an oldfashioned tutorial in my games after all.
(Actual first impression was *crash*, likely due to blocking the game with the firewall but the OS reporting that internet is available, which is a combination quite a lot of #Unity #games have an issue with, so all the above after unplugging the ethernet cable and trying again.)
