首謀者たちはその意図を明らかにしていました。彼らの憎悪と暴力は白日の下で展開されました。

この事実を疑う余地はありません。それでも、私たちはいま、事実を歪曲し、否定する勢力の躍進を目の当たりにしています。

反ユダヤ主義や偏狭な思想、人種主義や差別が、人間性を否定する論調によって焚きつけられ、無関心によって助長されているのです。

私たちは、過去の犠牲者を悼み、これ以上の残虐行為を許さないという姿勢をはっきりと示さねばなりません。

憎悪や不公正がどこで現れようと、これを拒否しなければなりません。

そして、あらゆる人が恐怖におびえることなく、尊厳を持ち、平和に暮らす権利を擁護しなければなりません。

それこそが、国連の基盤だからです。
