I would love to DIY a sub but since I don't do #Narcosubs that would mean getting it certified as seaworthy...
Even tho I'd only plan to go to maximum of 40m and would design it with 50m in mind and 100m crushing depth as destructive testing point, that's still 11:1 pressure ratio and a shitload of safety tests and equipment that would have demonstratively function if not autonomously without crew interactions.
Also it's providing one with far less risk should 1-2 shipments get interdicted.
And yes, traffickers will sacrifice up to 10% as tips to keep cops satisfied...
