The #Orion capsule did a #Moonflyby earlier this week and is expected to #splashdown in a couple days only, on Dec 11. The #spacecraft is now falling back to #Earth and accelerating (thanks to gravity) up to 39500 km/h (Mach 32) to re-entry the #Earth atmosphere.

This high-#speed re-entry is #NASA's #Artemis 1 top priority in order to #test Orion's #shield to protect #Astronauts in extreme conditions. It will reach 2760ºC, half the temperature of the #Sun.

This first #Artemis mission is providing us with another fantastic #picture of the #Moon taken by the #Orion capsule during the #MoonFlyby.

You should get use to them. There will be more missions in the next few years delivering even more stunning #photography. I am eager to see those from Artemis3, when #astronauts will walk again on the Moon.
