Charles Bridges led the Evangelical party in England. He reads Proverbs 3:27 as an awkwardly practical command: if you have ability, it’s meant to be used, not admired. Teaching the ignorant, caring for the afflicted, forming the young—these aren’t optional hobbies but obligations. Talent, left idle, isn’t neutral. It’s overdue.
