Washington is clearly sending a message on their commitment to ”security guarantees” by pushing Budapest as a location for Putin/Zelenskiy summit.

It should be remembered that it was in Budapest 1994 where the last ”security gurantees” for Ukraine were signed. They didn’t amount to anything.

USA is likely signalling to Russia that it doesn’t intend to back it’s talk about security guarantees with too much of anything.
