Thinking about the #MelbourneCup2023 I'm amazed that the racing industry still refuses to end the whipping of horses. It is costing them much of their audience, and it's hard to believe that anyone really wants to see it.

Unlike races between humans, no one cares at all about the time it takes to finish - the winning times aren't even reported AFAICT. #aussport
