Yesterday i wrote a new blog post! I've been playing Doshin the Giant lately and it's made me think a lot, as a game in which the player is not the focus, and as a place that's lovely to wander around.

a walk side by side with Doshin

@remi_tootata

Book: Rouge, histoire d'une couleur by Michel Pastoureau, non-fiction. In terms of fiction, started reading Indiana by George Sand.

Game: I find it probably forever relaxing to build houses in the Sims 4.

Movie: Last movie I watched was The Colour Purple, 1985. I really loved that movie. Series: The Gilded Age, I love letting my mind wander around a different point in time, lots of ruffles, flowing dresses included.

- I watched the new Superman movie a few days ago, it was unexpectedly pretty good! Also watching the Hannibal series atm

- Apart from that, I'm currently playing In Stars and Time

- Last book I read was probably the first Apothecary Diaries light novel.

- I'm currently reading several Manga/Manwha though: Blue Lock, May I Ask for One Final Thing, Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, and Villains Are Destined to Die

I want to try and build a web of stories & medias that people here are enjoying, so tell me: what's a book you're reading, a videogame you're playing, and/or a movie you've watched recently?

I'll go first:
- i've just started The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (currently 3 pages in 😅) right after finishing the wonderful Freshwater written by Akwaeke Emezi
- i'm playing Shin Megami Tensei IV on 3DS
- last movie i've watched was A Quiet Place - Day One, and i'm following Drag Race France All Stars as the episodes air

Your turn now!

In case it interests anyone, my most recent videogame sessions have been spent between:
- well, Mother 3
- Shin Megami Tensei IV (10 hours in, absolutely confused by a lot of things & loving it)
- Dark Souls remastered (just beat the Painted World, quite a chill time so far & much more enjoyable than Elden Ring for my taste)
- Formless Star (just finished it, so very cute and warm little thing)
- and my partner is playing Expedition 33, so i started it and it was pretty nice so i might continue for a bit!

Had hamburgers and played the first three scenarios of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion tonight with my partner. It’s our first campaign board game and it’s a bit long to learn all the rules & remember all the weird edge cases, but it’s a lot of fun! I like that it’s cooperative but we’re not allowed to speak plainly about what we’re going to do, it adds an element of surprise and chaos and keeps the game from being just a dry matter of optimisation. Can’t wait for ur next session!

i'm not a big PC player, but every once and again i get motivated and i play game after game in a short time. Today was no exception! I played:

- tomorrow is my birthday, a short story with a fascinating mix-media visual style: https://lemonblood.itch.io/tomorrow-is-my-birthday
- the first two games of Anthology of the Killer, a series i'm excited to keep discovering the other games of: https://thecatamites.itch.io/anthology-of-the-killer
- BlueSuburbia and Individualism in the dead-internet age by @alienmelon, two amazing pieces of art that mix "traditional" games & web art in deeply touching ways
- and i also started Hylics because i hear everywhere that it's a classic! I love the aesthetics but i haven't connected with the gameplay yet: https://mason-lindroth.itch.io/hylics

A lot of good things, i'm always excited to dive into those kinds games & inspired when i come out!
