Last @mcrscifi book club, we discussed Day of the Triffids, a book from 1951. I liked it considerably more than others did - mainly due to them feeling it hadn't stood the test of time and, especially sexism. I'm more on the "it was probably better than it's times". The women weren't all damsels in distress and, while the propogation of the human race was seen as a necessity I don't think it was as bad as it could have been >>>
