This month's #mcrsf read is Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky... Now, will be excellent like Children of Time or unreadable like Shards of Earth and Children of Memory?
Yeah... Hmmm... I'll start it tomorrow...

I should try to finish reading #mcrsf book for bookclub tonight, but there is A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and three new episodes of The Boyfriend and this is a re-read which I did re-read pretty recently...
decisions decisions...
Time to get up and sort breakfast I guess...
Then get a start on re-reading A Half-Built Garden for #mcrsf
Just updated the @mcrscifi database with the latest book. At our latest discussion we wondered if we were getting harsher with scores (or reading 'worse' books). The top graph of Scores over Time does show a trend down recently, though I need to refresh my stats knowledge before I can think about it in more detail (which I need to do for work anyway).
If you have any great sci-fi reads that we haven't read, please let us know!
Reading for #MCRSF...
The book cover, blurb and quotes (Richard Morgan - eurgh) do not fill me with confidence... Nor does the opening note about this being an omnibus edition and how that works...
And "Notes and References for..." Oh dear... Is it going to be one of those books...
(comment on Firefall)
I promised myself I would finish Assassin's Quest this weekend and I have done so on just the Saturday...
Taken longer than I'd have liked because
* It's a looong book
* I was back in the office this week so had to commute 3 days
* I had a night at the theatre
* Last weekend I had to (try to) read a book for #MCRSF and felt guilty not doing so...
* Etc.
So... Gonna try and get reading done before #RandomFilmSunday later tonight. Some Proms background - starting with Star Wars and the Planets from the National Youth Orchestra...
Should I give M R Carey's Infinity Gate another go? First four chapters were awful and seemed designed to antagonise me as the reader. Really not a fan. But I should for #mcrsf ...
Or I could return to Assassin's Quest...
This Saturday!
It's coming...
Not just the EU Tram Driver Championships, but the WORLD Tram Driver Championships!
(What do you want I need to read a book for #mcrsf which looks kinda chunky?)
