I got sucked down a little rabbit hole: Speed limits on tertiary highways in #OpenStreetMap. People for Bikes just made a change on how they calculate bike level of traffic stress on those roads, and it relies on an assumed speed limits. This warranted some investigation of the data in #MadisonWI and #Milwaukee. And a lot of mapping activity, adding explicit `maxspeed=*` tags.

Right on point. Not all parts of the bike community are equally welcoming, but at least here in #MadisonWI, the community is big enough that most people should be able to find a group of people that they can build community with! There are advocacy groups, community bike shops, riding groups (ranging from roadie racing to taco rides), various Discord servers, ...

Ah yes, the usual transit culture shock when returning from a visit to Germany/Switzerland: Waiting for 50 minutes for the next bus home from the #MadisonWI airport. Sigh.
