Two best parts about the new Yemenese coffee shop in Madison:
1. Quamaria Coffee is in a nice shaded strip of stores next to where the classes are for Madison Ballet, on Odana, near the McDonalds. I'm cheered to share the space with people coming and going from a class, especially interesting the subset of people in Madison who are doing ballet. They are slight folks, of all genders, swimming in their sweatpants and warmup clothes.
2. This shop serves as an option a drink made from just the hull of the fruit around the coffee bean. This is called "quishr".

And here it is! https://www.madisonbikes.org/events/bikeweek-2026/ Over 40 events already, and based on prior years, there will still be a lot more submissions.
Rumor has it that the initial Madison Bike Week schedule is going to be released tomorrow!!
In #madisonwi these introduced and invasive plants are considered ‘restricted’ by the Department of Natural Resources.

Therefore, conservation #organizations may be incentivized to remove them and inhibit research.
I’ve also notified the city that these shrubs surround large piles of rocks. Therefore, their removal without gradual replacement of native species could alter geological #risks such as erosion and soil collapse due to Karst topology.
