Term 3 week one. Two multiplayer WW2 games as requested by the students. 6 players plus hangers-on at recess, with the second group of 8 players bringing more spectators at lunchtime.

Using Fistfuloflead Bigger Battles rule set.

Good fun but as always too busy to take photos. I’ve scheduled a Bloodbowl game next weekend and will finally get to just hang out with my gaming buddy and play a game, rather than run a game.

Student club today saw two large multiplayer Gladiator games using Italeri 1/32 figures.

I added a slight fantasy twist. Every time a joker was pulled from the deck, that player could pilot the Golem to attack anyone they wanted…rolling a d20 for combat!

The students really love the theme and as always, the back-stabby element is always a hoot. The joker/golem mechanism kept everyone engaged, even those that were eliminated.

Recess & lunch sessions with the students today. Last week of a very long term!

A sci-fi scenario of Space Dwarves vs Aliens. Narrow wins for the Dwarf space contingent as they raced for their hover tanks to escape a marauding Alien army.

North Africa tank battle today in 15mm. 4 player session at recess followed by an 8 player game with the juniors at lunch.

A ‘last one standing’ game with secret point tokens that players could steal from each other. Random Stuka attacks for every joker.

Not historical of course, but the students are using fire & movement.

They love the tactical decisions.
Boys & girls 50/50 as usual..and always the peanut gallery looking on too. Good fun

Two sessions today for the students at our school club. Robin Hood vs Naughty Knights.

Robin and his merry men had to rescue Maid Marion before she was led away. A highlight - the Merry men shooting arrows at the mounted knight, a hero on his first turn. A failed armour save, a critical wound.

You live fast and die fast in #FistfulofLead …it’s fast & brutal and perfect for teens at lunchtimes.

My friend has gifted me these beautiful 15mm tanks. I took a punt and set up a ‘Tank Kart’ game today for the club.

Basically a Mario kart style game with a WW2 theme. A race to the finish with mines, wire, random artillery and of course backstabbing.

A highlight was the year 7 kid pushing his luck & scooting his light vehicle through a minefield to win. Everyone cheering.

‘Sir can we do a tank battle next week?’

My work here is done.

Two games sessions today, both WW2 skirmish using #FistfulofLead rules. Too busy again to take photos.

The club is becoming very popular though, lots of diverse players…a few D&D players and even some #warhammer kids turning up.

We always have a bunch of girls playing too, so it would seem that gaming isn’t just a ‘boys own’ nerdy hobby now.

In other news…my 1/32 gladiators are slowly getting painted.

#Tabletop #Wargaming #wargames #lunchtimewargame Two sessions today. The junior students at recess were too hectic and energetic for photos, as there were 12 kids plus extra. At lunchtime the seniors session was a very relaxing smaller session. 28mm #FistfulofLead with a ‘Saving Private Ryan’ theme. One GI fumbled his grenade throw and ended up getting splashed and wounded. FFOL tends to give you these Hollywood moments.
##tabletop #wargames #lunchtimewargame club has started at school today. Lots of players and spectators. First game of zombie themed #FistfulofLead was too chaotic and fun to take photos. Nine players at recess followed by the senior students playing some East Front #historicalwargaming during the next session. 8 players pushing tanks and dropping mortars. My ears are still ringing from the mad chatter and trash talking from the two games. #Tabletop .
#lunchtimewargame #Wargaming #warganes #tabletop my hobby room and desk is in complete disarray and with the school’s gaming group starting up for the year it’s only going to get worse. Everything is mixed up and won’t fit in the right boxes. My painting table is cluttered up with various figures, tools and paints. There’s no system! I think a good reorganisation is called for before I add more stuff or begin a new project. The problem is…the siren song of the paintbrush is calling….must resist…
