Hmmm… I am betting "white shoes" is now some very dated #slang / #jargon.
In legal settings there are often dress requirements; Jurists where robes. Lawyers used to, & wigs, stoles. About the only thing which was visible and solely personal taste was: shoes.
The tradition became that lawyers display their status with shoes. The most expensively stupid shoe is: white ones.
You can only wear them a handful of times before they will be indelibly marred or scuffed.
I invited other artists to respond to the topic, under the title #byewords, with fabulous results. This piece is by my friend Sasha Spyrou (https://www.instagram.com/anotherrrealm) and was installed in the same community garden during the residency.

This was a temporary installation in a community garden/woodland in Liverpool, part of a residency with Not Just Collective in 2018.
Like my earlier work Wilweorthunga, this piece was inspired by the idea of "clootie trees" and healing.
When the Oxford children's dictionary discarded dozens of nature-words—"dandelion," "fern," "starling" — as irrelevant to kids' imagination and replaced them with words like "broadband" and "cut-and-paste," this wildly inspired act of resistance was born: https://t.co/Is4zFAQqc6
Just wrote a new short story, went to save the draft and the app froze.
I tried to copy the words. The app crashed. On recovering the files the one I'd just typed all those words into was empty.
Another Kubla Khan moment :(
Was für ein schönes Spiel 😍
