One of the many reasons I love to #gobybus even though in most places I have visited it is not the most time efficient - though it is better for the environment - is because of the surprise adventures!

Today, my bus stop - after facilitating a lovely song circle for Portland Reclaiming - was right by a meadery and local bar with a *great* mead selection and super warm, wood tones, local vibe.

Much nicer waiting in here for the bus!

Neighbor apparently planted maypops, a few years ago. This year, the vine grew through our fence and set fruits.

Wife made syrup from them, that she just mixed into cocktails with dark and light rums plus fresh squeezed limes. So a bit of
#localvore in our drunkening.

Hey it works today!

First to the farmers market then to the final workshop performance of Rebels and Priestesses.

In season and available now in the #sfbay is the amazing Cherimoya aka the Custard Apple. A delightful creamy fruit grown in our #foodshed it is a brilliant brrakfast or dessert on its own but can also be made into sorbet or added to salads and smoothies to show off its tropical flavor. #localvore #locavore #cherimoya #custardapple #seasonaleating #seasonality #shoplocal #eatlocal #eatfreshandlocal #farmersmarket

Some local WA agricultural citations for tonight's dinner: A soup made with a Jarrahdale pumpkin (Alvarez Farm, Yakima County), lacinato kale (River Run Farm, Clallam County), and parsley (SC Farm, King County) with beets (Kirsop Farm, Thurston County), plus sourdough (Grand Central Bakery, Seattle).
