This is really important for a lot of people to read, specifically in the context of “leftists” who defend Putin and Assad.

But it’s also, in my reading, part of the mindless binary adversarialism that infect politics across the board. You’re with us or against us. You back everything Labor wants to do or you’re working with the Liberals. You’ll defend Israel to the end or you’re antisemitic. You’ll defend Hamas’S every action or you’re a colonialist Zionist. You’ll support building concrete box apartments nobody should have to live in or you’re a NIMBY.

This is deadening politics. It’s the opposite of #LivingDemocracy

Internationalism, Anti-Imperialism, And the Origins of Campism - New Politics

La Botz analyzes the pseudo anti-imperialist character of campism and calls for genuine internationalism of workers against imperialism. Read more ›

This group rid one Australian river of its privet problem – and strengthened community along the way

Environmental success depends on social connections. So if you want to start a new group, you need to think about the people as much as the problem.

Listening to Living Democracy: Audio Book | Green Institute

You can now listen to Tim Hollo reading his book, Living Democracy, to find inspiration, ideas, and encouragement to do your own thinking.

Peace is possible, and people are working for it, even in the direst of circumstances.

It was such a privilege and pleasure this morning to meet with Mohammed Asideh, Jamal Rifi and Ron Finkel from Project Rozana International.

They run a program that takes Palestinian children to Israeli hospitals for dialysis and chemotherapy, trains Palestinian and Israeli nurses together, and creates deep, active relationships of connection. Right now, they are working to build a field hospital to triage patients, and rebuild capacity, since at least one of their Israeli volunteer drivers has been taken hostage, and Palestinian patients and participants have had their homes destroyed.

The hate and shortsightedness of the leaders is not reflected in the love and wisdom of the people.

This is #LivingDemocracy, it is #peace building through health diplomacy, it gives me hope.

The readings for my "Political Ecology" unit at the local university suggest that capitalism itself is at the base of our environmental degradation. Degradation happens as a result of focusing on labour productivity rather than land productivity.
To solve environmental problems we probably need to go beyond renewable energy etc. We actually need to break the system?

Webinar: Living Towards Transformation - Discussing Green Agenda 2023/1

Green Agenda's first edition of 2023 explores living towards transformation and in this webinar we will be joined by several contributors to discuss what it might mean.

The Green Institute

New from me at Green Agenda - on #transformative politics and #LivingDemocracy.

How do we turn that age-old challenge of seeking to change the system while operating within it from an uncomfortable contradiction into a creative tension?

Transforming towards living - Green Agenda

Tim Hollo asks whether we are changing politics more than politics is changing us? It’s a question we rarely ask ourselves in any kind of formal way. But it’s one that more and more members and supporters are asking, when confronted by the vast gulf between politics-as-usual and the ecological, economic, social and political crises we face.
