On your FOH-computer, install obs-cli (not from your #debian repository, but via "pipx install obs-cli"), take your Linux-Show-Player and create a command-cue. Insert the command:

obs-cli --host [ip-address oft the raspi] --port [port you setup in obs] --password [your fancy password] scene switch [name oft the scene]

If everything went fine, pressing " Go" will start a video on the raspi.

Building a powerful, remote controled, professional, snappy video player for free:

Take a (or several) Raspberry Pi 4 with RaspberryOS and install obs-studio on it. (Obs will refuse to work, first, but you can override the open-gl demands with the environment variable "MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.3".)
Now, activate obs-websocket in obs' settings (and come up with a fancy password)! Create some scenes!

Do you use #FreeSoftware in the #event sector, especially for event technology?
