Another step in the Letter Project.

While wandering a Barcelona antique shop, I discovered 20th-century postcards with beautiful handwriting:
✨One from 1905, Catalan text to a mother under a photo of actress Else Wohlgemuth.
✨Another from 1914, a note to “my dear cousin,” telling a tiny story of celebration and sympathy.

I sent these to Nick, who also collects old postcards and draws inspiration for his book.

Letter #0005 – envelope and contents
Sent to my penpal Hannah.
Layers of paper and textile, placed by hand. A handwritten note softly tinted with color I drew from wild plants! 🌿
The whole piece rests inside a powerful red envelope. Red felt right for Hannah at that time; she had told me she’s a musician, and I kept thinking about how powerful it is to find your own voice in the music industry.
I tend to associate colors with people and stories. this one felt undeniably red ❤️‍🔥

Sent to my penpal Ilona.

Green & purple palette throughout.
I found an illustration of a person casting a vote and replaced the plain ballot with colorful holographic paper.
On the back a Dutch quote meaning “by writing on paper you gently browse through your ideas”.💚
Also included a piece of Gustav Klimt’s "Bewegtes Wasser" referencing the flow and dynamic of life.
