The mvp of practicing #cw. I'm on day 38 using morse code ninja, and it has been the meat and potatoes of learning cw. These podcasts compliment the #cwopsAcademy beginner course perfectly. Grab the rss feed for your podcast player here:
So, I’m working my way through the International Morse Code characters, and was very surprised to get to “4” (di-di-di-di-dah) and find that I already knew it intimately. It’s the same rhythm as the “Sword of Omens” musical motif from the 1980’s #ThunderCats cartoon I used to watch as a kid! It was used in suspenseful and heroic moments and conditioned watchers that something big was about to happen! And now I get to smile every time I hear a 4.
After being inactive for decades, five years ago I decided to jump back into the hobby. Currently, I’m #learningCW (just about comfortable enough for an on air contact), trying my hand at building a #scratchBuilt 20M DC receiver (it been on the shelf of shame too long!), and I love #portableHF operation.
This is my first exposure to Mastodon, so lots to learn about posting, replying, browsing threads, indicating likes, etc., but looking forward to being active here.
