It's by far not our first time in (Northern) Italy and still partner and I kept wondering how the landscape kept being "the Italy we know from art". Until it finally clicked yesterday: this is exactly the landscape that all of them - Dürer and Goethe and Rilke and all the other names - passed through.

And yes, even without the ingrained cultural reference, the landscape is just very beautiful.
