I finished book 3 which was K. J. Heritage's, "Tea, Cake & Murder: A Very British Cosy Mystery". ("Cosy" is spelled correctly as it is indeed very British!) This was an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) that I read and will be submitting reviews for, 5 stars worth to be sure.

The book stands alone as 1920s with some modern bits wrapped around it. One can enjoy the mystery alone or enjoy the whole. I enjoyed it all and hope for further development.

I finished book 73 which was K.J. Heritage's (@kjheritage) "Shattered Web". This is the sequel to "Shattered Helix" in the Vatic series. Vatic is a genetically modified empath investigator who must figure out who murdered most of the crew of the bioship Ariadne. The ship is sentient, some survivors are not who they say they are, and most of them would happily see Vatic get spaced. That's situation normal for Vatic. Great book!

I read book 71 which was K.J. Heritage's (@kjheritage) "Shattered Helix". This is the 1st book in the Vatic series. Vatic is a genetically modified empath detective sent to a secure lab facility to investigate a death while dealing with the hostile scientists. Great book and I look forward to number 2 which I will soon start and number 3, (next year?).

Until now, I would rate the rudest way to be woken up as Kat waking me up, from a deep sleep, at 8:30 on a day off to tell me the hot water heater is leaking and there's a small, hot pond in the basement. Now the new rudest way to be woken up is Vatic from K.J. heritage's (@kjheritage) "Shattered Helix". "Wake up jerk and out the airlock you go!" Good book, or at least the first 5 chapters are. I'll tell you about the rest when I finish.

@jimbodie That’s a lot of #books! I used to hoard them until I was forced to move a few times in a short period of time and decided to on a cull. Now I only have my all time #FavouriteBooks. Still a couple of hundred! And yes, thanks, Jim. I agree with you, everyone should read books by #KJHeritage ♥️

(part 3)

I like that the protagonist of the story is not the typical hero. It's also an interesting twist that iron and gold, typical mainstays of the fantasy story are considered evil in this world. This was a very good book.

I finished book 19 which was K.J. Heritage's (@kjheritage) "The Lady in the Glass: Volume One: 12 Tales of Death & Dying". This is a short story collection dealing with, death & dying. Some are not as morbid as that sounds, and some are. All are very good stories.

This book could be read as a preview of the author's other works. Content from at least 3 of his books, "Quick-Kill", "The Scowl", and "Blue Into the Rip" are included in this book.

I finished book 11 which was K.J. Heritage's (@kjheritage), "Quick-Kill & The Galactic Secret Service".

Quick-Kill Jane is a professional assassin that lives on a boring backwater planet called Plenty. Her job lands her in trouble with the Cabal (bad guys) and the Galactic Secret Service (GSS).

The book is fun, and most entertaining. I recommend to anyone that likes their Sci-Fi with a giant side of humor and fun.

I suppose it is a very good sign when the book you are reading makes you say, "I did not see that coming!" quite often.

Speaking of that book, @kjheritage, I think you have a typo, maybe, in the Quick-Kill omnibus on page 204. The sentence, "You want to end your it?" I understood what Mother was saying, but the wording seems odd.

Fantastic and fun book! I might just stay up late to finish it tonight.
