I finished book 23 which was J.N. Chaney's, "1-800-Srarship". If you liked the movie "The Last Starfighter", then you'll like this book. It is a similar concept, a young man from Earth is recruited to join a galactic alliance in their war against an alien enemy. Great book, would make a great movie.

I finished book 22 which was Jim Beard's (@writerjimbeard.bsky.social) , "DC Jones and Adventure Command Book 1: Secret of the Sunken Tomb". These books read like a child who was playing with his action toys and acted out a big adventure. They're fun and exciting stories.

I finished book 19 which was Esther Friesner's, "Hooray for Hellywood". This is the sequel and conclusion to "Here Be Demons" and "Demon Blues". Demons failed to corrupt humans so they joined them in a battle against a demon with plans to corrupt human souls en masse. Very good series.

I finished book 18 which was "Turn the Other Chick" edited by Esther Friesner. This is the 5th book in the Chicks in Chainmail series of fantasy short stories. The common theme is that the stories are funny with women protagonists who often kick the ass of some jerk who needs it.

I finished book 17 which was Janet Morris's "Heroes in Hell" also featuring authors Gregory Benford, C.J. Cherryth, and David Drake. This is an anthology series. Each author contributed a short story or novella length story to the book to push forward the story. Very interesting take on Hell.

I finished book 16 which was Peter Englund's, "The Beauty and the Sorrow". This is a WWI book with a unique way of telling the story. The author followed the writings of 20 very different individuals from both sides of the war. This was a interesting and unique perspective of the war.

I finished book 15 which was the Star Wars Legends graphic novel, "The Thrawn Trilogy". This book includes the 6 issue stories, "Heir to the Empire", "Dark Force Rising", and "The Last Command". Now that I've read these, I wonder if they would have made better movies than episodes 7, 8 and 9.
