The #TikTok discussion should be around how the platform actively promotes societal disruption including auto theft, school vandalism, subway surfing, and similarly disruptive and dangerous activities to minors.

There is real value to the Chinese government in disrupting our society and creating evidence for why their hard line control is better as a solution to these ills they are helping to cause in western society.

Just the #kiaboyz trend has cost us millions in damages, lost time, and disruption. Talking about data collection rather than their very intentional selective moderation of the platform is missing the point.

An update on our stolen Hyundai. It’s been recovered with a damaged bumper and windows busted out.

Best guess is that it’s part of a spree of joyriding thefts from groups of young people who then post about their escapades on social media using tags like #kiaboys or #kiaboyz

Hyundai and Kia thefts have skyrocketed since how easy they were to steal went viral on TikTok. We had one stolen from our household and another from a neighbor this week. Video footage from the neighbor’s theft showed it took about a minute to steal the car and it was a convoy of likely stolen Kias & Hyundais that rolled through the neighborhood.
