A more serious book I’ve read is The Beak of the Finch by Jonathan Weiner. It’s about the evolution, how Darwin discovered it, how it’s very hard to experiment on, but how some people are able to conduct proper experiments on it in the wild. And in the last part of the book, there’s a warning about our use of antibiotics and pesticides. Most species targeted this way will evolve resistances over time. It’s very worrying to see we’re still giving antibiotics to livestock, greatly increasing the risk of a bacteria to evolve some resistance and then spread to humans.
