Coniunctio by Blue Effect & Jazz Q Praha, released on Supraphon in 1970

"Coniunctio presents eary freejazz-oriented version of Jazz Q with Jiří Stivín in experimental fusion with progressive rock group Blue Effect. Music sometimes reminds expanded Soft Machine from Fourth album. With Stivín's departure shortly after this recording, Martin Kratochvíl changed direction of Jazz Q towards electric jazz-rock, Blue Effect continued in its progressive rock (or art rock) vein and also made 2 albums in fusion with Czechoslovak Radio Jazz Orchestra - New Synthesis (1971) and New Synthesis 2 (1974)." - Inconstant Sol blog

New #review today for #MartinKratochvil & #JazzQ — Live Plzeň 1980: "This period is characterized by a more electric #fusion sound borne of a leaner four or five piece lineup, often with plenty of guest players on hand, reflecting a more American influence, not unlike #HerbieHancock or #WeatherReport of the same period." #ExposeOnline #JazzRock http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/martin-kratochvil-jazz-q-live-plzen-1980-3.html

Our #SongOfTheDay is a live performance by Czechoslovakian jazz-rock group Jazz Q in '75. It's a sprawling, energetic jam with some killer solos on moog, rhodes and violin. It's "Živí se diví".
