Late set at Jazz Gallery with Michael Attias and a killer band taking me there: Ralph Alessi (trumpet), Matt Moran (vibes), Sean Conly (bass), Tom Rainey(!).

Tonight: hard to overstate how much top tier jazz is going down in NYC this week. Actually got shut out of shows I considered earlier/later, but in between caught saxophonist Ben Wendel's Barcode which featured not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 vibes players, one of the more unique quintets I've ever seen. The music was a polyrhythmic zone-out delight. Happy Reichian loops of all manner of malleted music. Very cool show at the Jazz Gallery.
