👉 Yesterday (13/2) the entire staff of the digital agency Optilink Solutions in Nicosia walked out on an indefinite work stoppage, due to the arbitrary, sudden and illegal termination of employment of one of the employees!

😱 The agency unexpectedly without any kind of notice nor warning terminated the employment of the worker mere days after the whole staff collectively organised and notified management about a series of common demands. In fact, they specifically stated that asking for a raise was one of the reasons of the termination!

😡 This is a blatant violation of labour rights, not only because the employee has completed the 3,5 months' long trial period of employment (this specific length of the trial period was defined in a recent email by management, on the 10th of February), but, more importantly, due to the fact that the right of collective organising is legally and constitutionally protected in Cyprus!

👭💪 The staff is expressing their sincere apologies to all clients and partners for any inconvenience caused by these events, but the solidarity among them takes precedence, and the company and its management are solely responsible for any and all negative consequences resulting from this situation.
📢 We are joining our voice with the employees demanding that the illegal and vengeful termination is revoked immediately!

👉 Σε επ' αόριστον στάση εργασίας έχει κατέβει από χθες (13/2) όλο το προσωπικό του digital agency Optilink Solutions στη Λευκωσία, λόγω του αυθαίρετου, ξαφνικού και παράνομου τερματισμού απασχόλησης μίας εκ των εργαζομένων!

😡 Ο οργανισμός απροσδόκητα, χωρίς κανενός είδους πρότερης παρατήρησης, σχετικής νύξης ή προειδοποίησης, διέκοψε την απασχόληση της εργαζόμενης λίγες μέρες αφότου όλο το προσωπικό οργανώθηκε συλλογικά και ενημέρωσε τη διεύθυνση για μια σειρά κοινών τους αιτημάτων. Μάλιστα, η εργοδοσία ανέφερε συγκεκριμένα ότι το να ζητήσουν αύξηση ήταν ένας από τους λόγους της απόλυσης!

😱 Πρόκειται για κατάφωρη παραβίαση των εργατικών δικαιωμάτων, όχι μόνο επειδή η εργαζόμενη έχει συμπληρώσει τη δοκιμαστική περίοδο των 3,5 μηνών (αυτή η συγκεκριμένη διάρκεια της δοκιμαστικής περιόδου ορίστηκε σε πρόσφατο email της διοίκησης, στις 10 Φεβρουαρίου), αλλά, κυρίως, λόγω του γεγονότος ότι το δικαίωμα της συλλογικής οργάνωσης προστατεύεται νομικά και συνταγματικά στην Κύπρο!

👭💪 Το προσωπικό εκφράζει την ειλικρινή απολογία του προς όλους τους πελάτες και συνεργάτες για την όποια ταλαιπωρία προκαλείται από αυτά τα γεγονότα, αλλά η αλληλεγγύη μεταξύ τους προέχει και η εταιρεία και η διοίκηση της είναι αποκλειστικά υπεύθυνες για οποιεσδήποτε αρνητικές συνέπειες προκύψουν από αυτήν την κατάσταση.
