News on my legacy #ipad3: It turns out the A5X chip is technically prone to #checkm8 but it requires some sort of #arduino uno trickery. This should maybe help me boot linux from that machine.

After roughly 1.5 weeks of forced #covid downtime, I'm feeling a little better. Still positive though. I hate it.

updates from #apple #ipad3 hacking: so it turns out that the ipad 3 only has about 3GB in the system partition and about 100MB (yes, as in megabyte) free.

means that you can barely install anything in there.

attempts were made to offload stuff to the userspace partition (/var). Bad news: the stashing app by coolstar is incompatible with ios 9.3.6.

i might need to get in touch or start moving and linking stuff away from the system partition.

does anyone have experience with this stuff?

okay, so the #ipad3 uses terribly old software of course. so old in fact that you need toinstruct your ssh client to allow sha1 algorithms. i'll check if there is a way around that. I actually think it should be possible since the file structure inside the ipad seems to be standard linux/unix.
