Since very little is revealed about Joseph, Mary, and Jesus' younger years, a lot of speculation attended to them. Some of this speculation was no doubt motivated by curiosity and people creatively using their imaginations.

And some of the speculation had more dogmatic purposes in order to justify or reinforce certain dogmas regarding #Mary and the birth of #Jesus.
