PSA: There will be no "the culture" class. There is no meeting invite.

You have to show up. And you have to be nice to people.

You earn access to cultural knowledge. That access can be withdrawn at any time. You are not entitled to it, it's a gift.

@LillyHerself I haven't seen many yet though they're among the tags I have seen for indigenous people of North America and Pacifica. You might checks some of these broader indigenous/native people tags. (I am hapa AANHPI or AAPI, have found few folks on Masto yet like me.)

Honestly I'm still on twitter b/c #BlackTwitter and #IndigenousTwitter and #DisabledTwitter are still there and I don't want to lose seeing their perspectives (and more!) in my timeline.

I just don't see that flourishing here yet.

So I'm there, reading, sharing people's good work, and shit posting about Musk. With an ad blocker.

But I do bring my cool new stuff here rather than there. It's a weird dual existence.

I'm really enjoying Mastodon since I joined last week. One thing I miss a lot about #Twitter is that my timeline was much more #diverse. That's one of the main reasons I still have a foot in the door there. I follow many #BlackTwitter and #IndigenousTwitter accounts. Thoughts about making Mastodon a more inviting place for diverse communities to migrate to?
