Dissent is a necessary element in our democracy and I often document protests of events that I am passionate about or that just piss me off. This image was created at the protests in Washington D.C. in 2018 as a stand against the family separation policy of the Trump administration. A pro-life protestor began a divisive confrontation as the protests were underway and was quickly surrounded by counter-protestors and cops.
