Three things broke down within few days. (The troubles of being a house owner 🙄 ) Typically reported with a yell “dad!” or “Jacob!” Followed by, No hot water, washer error, lightning in microwave oven.
The splash shield at the microwave outlet had a burn that became carbonised and started acting antenna. Was easily replaced when a new sheet arrived.
Gas furnace’s ion probe had expired its useful life (had suspected that coming, so a spare was already at hand).
Washing machine’s carbon brushes gave in with a sigh at a critical moment in the weekly laundry process. Had luckily some used spares with a little life left in a box somewhere. I’m impressed that I could find them in like 10 min (after being kept for around 15 years). Required a consultation of YouTube, particularly how to reset the error with a number of secret button pushes 😅
