#macOS（那时候还叫#OSX）内置的#ichat 软件是支持xmpp的，但我完全找不到任何可以用来连接xmpp的服务器，更不用说用它「和朋友聊天」了
最后我唯一找到的是，新浪微博……
是的，新浪微博的私信功能，最初是基于XMPP构建的……所以，你可以使用新浪微博的账号、在支持XMPP的IM软件上登录，以#即时通讯 的方式与互关用户私信……

当然，这种用法一是不稳定（印象里sina的服务器很快就会拒绝访问，要在IM软件里重新登陆）；二是sina没多久就重构了私信功能，彻底取消了XMPP的连接功能

XMPP的失败有太多原因了，但它始终没有走出#技术狂热者(#TechSavvy）所组成的#早期试用者（#Earlyadopter）阶段是核心原因。
