It's January. Of course, it is still cold. Turns out, that was our 6th-coldest December in Dawson City since 1898. https://twitter.com/ThierryGooseBC/status/2007148319114776853 Zooming in on that chart for Dawson City: I'll have to look more at the weather from 1917 in the records my Uncle Joe sent me. That sounds like a doozie! We are going through firewood at an impressive pace. Two Rubbermaid totes a day, instead of our usual 1. Right now it's -47C/-53F, and it is forecast to dip to [β¦]
My mother (born and raised in Alaska) always told me horror stories about the ice fog...but having seen it myself, there are few winter atmospheres so beautiful. Captured one cold November morning in Utah, "Horse of the Pogonip".
