RESULT: Democrat Mike Zimmer just flipped a state Senate seat in Iowa in a special election tonight.
Zimmer prevails 53% to 47%. Trump had carried the district 60% to 39% in November.
Democrats also easily held a state Senate seat in Minnesota. Democrat Doron Clark won this Hennepin County seat 91% to 9%. In November, Harris had prevailed 83% to 14%.
If you told a computer to generate a perfect candidate for Iowa Senate district 35, it would be hard-pressed to find someone better than Mike Zimmer.
