Flash Flood Warning is probably the most dangerous section of the I-40 near Kingman. 😬
I have slowly driven by two fatal accidents there before (one, stuck on the freeway for several hours). In only a handful of trips. The downhill going westbound to Kingman was particularly bad a few years ago when they were doing construction, it was down to one lane in spots, and the semi drivers were playing chicken with the barriers, often cutting into the left lane at the very last possible moment. And the interstate was absolutely thrashed, very easy to shred a tire, too. And everyone was speeding.
A couple of excellent articles from the #BiltmoreBeacon on the most recent wash-out of I40 at the NC/TN line.
