Die auffällige #Hyparschale im Magdeburger #Rotehornpark wurde 1969 nach den Plänen von #UlrichMüther errichtet. Die besondere Form sorgt dafür, dass der große Innenraum ohne Säulen auskommt. Nach 20 Jahren Leerstand und Verfall wurde die Hyparschale umfassend saniert und 2024 wiedereröffnet. Sie dient als Ausstellungs- und Veranstaltungszentrum für bis zu 500 Gäste. Eine Banksy-Ausstellung machte den Auftakt, letztes Jahr waren auch die Körperwelten drin. Ich leider noch nie. 🙈

The Hyparschale, a distinctive hyperbolic paraboloid shell structure made up of four hyperbolic paraboloids, stands in #Magdeburg's largest park. Designed by East German engineer Ulrich Müther and built in 1969, its innovative design allows for a column-free main hall. After being neglected and left vacant for 20 years, the iconic building was extensively restored and reopened in 2024 as a venue for exhibitions, fairs, and events, accommodating up to 500 people. A Banksy exhibition marked its grand reopening, followed by Body Worlds last year. I've never been inside though. 🙈
