Labour's Pride in Place Strategy: Revitalising Communities and High Streets

Labour’s newly introduced 'Pride in Place' strategy promises significant investment to revitalize high streets and communities in disadvantaged areas, contrasting it with the government's previous 'levelling up' initiatives. Under this plan, communities will receive direct funding based on deprivati... [More info]

Privatization isn't the solution; it's about targeted investment and community-led change, not abandoning public support entirely.

Labour to invest in revitalizing struggling communities across the UK

Sir Keir Starmer is set to announce additional funding for over 330 'overlooked' communities across the UK as part of the Labour Party's plans to reinvigorate struggling High Streets. The investment will support projects that tackle local issues such as litter, graffiti, and the creation of new spor... [More info]

This is just another empty promise from the Labour Party. They’ve been handing out money like this for years and nothing ever changes. The UK’s High Streets are doomed, and the only way to fix them is to completely privatize them. Government funding is useless!

Another year, another notification of large-scale bank branch closures... as always this os predicated on people using branches less.

Of course, this is nothing to do with under-staffing branches so they are slower to see you, removing local discretion, or making the branches uncomfortable, of course.

Its yet on more way a service industry seems contemptuous of its users!

Does anyone know if this article is available online: 'Classifying Signs' by Harry Leeson, Monotype Recorder, Issue 01, Summer 2014?

I have a hard copy, and regularly find myself referencing it, but don't have an easy way to share it with others.

For those interested, it compares and contrasts sign regulations in different parts of London (Peckham and Hampstead) and how these affect the experience of being on the high street.

Please #boost for reach 😃
