Turn Up the Heat: No Tax Dollars for Weapons, Wars, or ICE · Mobilize

Join us on the National Tax Day of Action, April 15, for a Mass Movement Call on where our tax dollars are going—and how you can pressure politicians to fund care not killing. On this call, we’ll hear from Rep. Delia Ramirez about the Block the Bombs Act and Melt ICE Act, federal bills she’s introduced to block major weapons for Israel and to defund and dismantle ICE. Together, we’ll explore a range of tactics to pressure politicians and build public opposition to the use of our tax dollars to fund genocide, war, detention, and deportation. We’ll also introduce a new toolkit from the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action and walk through organizing tactics, including letter writing, birddogging, and city council resolutions. You’ll hear from Bay Area organizers who recently won a Richmond City Council resolution calling for an arms embargo on Israel and an end to the war on Iran. Similar local resolutions have helped make public opposition visible, put elected officials on the record, and build momentum in past campaigns, including ceasefire efforts. Join us to learn ways you can turn up the heat on complicit politicians and confront them with the voices of all the constituents they’ve ignored.

Protecting Our Community from ICE — A DEMOCRACY FORUM Event · Mobilize

Citizens won the Battle of Minnesota. In January, 3,000 Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents invaded the Twin Cities, armed with military-grade weaponry, sophisticated surveillance technology, and an animus toward immigrants. Minnesotans resisted with whistles, cell phones, love, care, a commitment to “neighboring,” and the knowledge and skills that enabled them to overcome an assault on their city and force a humiliating MAGA withdrawal. We will learn from that experience and build the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively here. While a mass raid has not yet occurred in the Bay area, enforcement actions and harm to immigrant communities are ongoing and we must be ready to respond. Participants in this Democracy Forum will build capacity to respond quickly, collectively, and effectively to ICE attacks. Attendees will connect with organizations doing this work and gain tools to respond not only to major raids, but also to everyday arrests and deportations affecting families in our communities. Strengthening these skills allows us to better support our neighbors and may deter future large-scale operations. **What This Event Will Offer** In this forum, experts in the immigration field will share best practices for safeguarding our communities, preventing widespread ICE surveillance, providing mutual aid, and other community organizing strategies. Presenters will cover several key topics: - Demonstration, observation, and documentation rights - Neighborhood organizing models - Community mutual aid - Rapid Response Networks - Creating safe spaces in local businesses - Mass surveillance and digital security, including use of automatic license plate readers (ALPRs) - Opposing local detention centers **Panelists and Speakers** **Huy Tran**, Executive Director of Services, Immigration Rights and Education Network (SIREN) will moderate a panel consisting of representatives of Santa Clara County **Rapid Response Network**; **Bay Resistance**, a coalition of South Bay residents defending our communities from attacks; and **Dan Morley**, Immigration Workgroup Lead of Indivisible Tri-Valley. In addition, we will hear from residents of Minneapolis who provided mutual aid during the ICE raids. This event will also contain breakout sessions conducted by: CSO San José, Food Not Bombs, Cardinal Courage, YUCA, SURJ and Electronic Frontier Foundation. **Participating Organizations** Indivisible Palo Alto Plus is hosting this event with participation by Bay Resistance, It's Blue Turn, the Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County, and SIREN (Service, Immigrant Rights & Education Network). **LEARN MORE, DO MORE** “Protecting Our Communities from ICE” is the second presentation of Democracy Forum, a series of action-oriented events hosted by Indivisible Palo Alto Plus. Democracy Forum aims to provide a “deep dive” educational experience that will equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools that they need to preserve and strengthen the American democratic experiment. **New to IPA+? Join us at 2:30 PM!** If No Kings Day sparked something in you and you're wondering what comes next, we'd love to have you join us for an **Orientation + Social** event from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, right before the DEMOCRACY FORUM event at the same location. It's a fun, welcoming introduction to Indivisible Palo Alto Plus—a chance to meet your people, figure out where you fit in, and celebrate what we've built together. No experience required. All are welcome. [Learn more and register.](https://www.mobilize.us/ipaplus/event/929922/)

Join coastal Indivisible groups for LOVE MELTS ICE Rally & Fundraiser on Saturday, April 18th, 3 – 6 p.m. in Newport, OR. It is a rally protesting DHS expansion & illegal ICE actions that are already affecting the entire Oregon coast. Rally will take place on N. Hwy 101 in front of Newport City Hall. DHS is stepping up its efforts around the country to establish permanent human storage sites and the fight against an ICE detention facility in Newport isn’t over. Newport Mayor Jan Kaplan points out that DHS only said it wouldn’t plan anything until after May 1st – we don’t know what happens after that. Even if DHS had promised Newport they wouldn’t build, it can’t be trusted. Meanwhile, there is word that they want to set up a facility in Roseburg. LOVE MELTS ICE is also a music fundraiser to benefit three Lincoln County organizations: Centro de Ayuda, Conéxion Fénix, and Arcoíris Cultural. Each group works for individuals and families most at risk of being impacted by ICE’s illegal actions. They help those who face risk to simply send kids to school, pick up groceries, or go to work. Because ICE still wants to establish a detention facility on the Oregon coast, neighbors no longer feel safe. These groups offer education, family support, healthcare, and other support services. Local musicians will play on the lawn in front of Newport City Hall over a period of three hours. Donations from rally-goers will be split evenly between the three organizations. We must protest the way ICE is hurting our communities. Through our donations, we can help. LOVE MELTS ICE is hosted by the Oregon Coast Indivisible Alliance; OCIA is comprised of 14 groups stretching from Astoria to Brookings. We hosted a similar protest in December - ICE HAS NO BUSINESS HERE - that drew over 800 people from all over Oregon. Given that it is Spring, we expect the more will show up this time. A core principle behind all Indivisible & ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Indivisible is managing data and communications with participants. Protest Rally! This is a local Indivisible event! Join Indivisible, Middletown Outrage into Action and Shore Area NOW as we protest in Middletown!! We show up to voice a slew of concerns, including ICE’s illegal detention of immigrants without due process, ICE’s escalation of violence in Minneapolis, the cuts to Medicaid, USAID, SNAP, and other essential federal programs, the tax cuts to billionaires, the illegal invasion of both Iran and Venezuela, and Trump’s threats to other countries as well. Until Rep. Chris Smith and the rest of Congress begin to show genuine congressional oversight and push back against the unconstitutional actions of the Trump administration, we will protest. Join us Wednesday from 4:30 to sunset in front of Rep. Chris Smith's Middletown office located at 1715 Route 35! While Chris Smith has abandoned this office, we have not. ICE Protest Against Disappearances · Mobilize

Every evening and morning throughout central Arkansas, ICE agents are kidnapping immigrant community members, and bringing them to a detention building at 4501 Roosevelt, across from the airport. Sometime between 1pm and 3pm, every weekday afternoon, an unmarked white bus arrives at the building. ICE agents take chains off the bus, and take them inside to chain the community members by their wrists and ankles. They are then moved onto the bus, typically 6 to 20 men, and occasionally a woman or two. The immigrant community members are then driven to ICE prison camps in Louisiana, where we have heard they receive inadequate food and the drinking water is brown, and many get sick. Two Arkansas groups, Peoples Protest AR and La Voz Del Pueblo, have been working to maintain a DAILY presence to bear witness to these disappearances for over 7 months now. Indivisible LRCA is helping by coordinating volunteers to help cover Wednesday from 1ish, until the bus departs with our kidnapped community members. Our goals are to: 1. Show visible and loud support to the community members being disappeared 2. Send a message to the law-breaking ICE agents that they will be held accountable 3. Raise community awareness of what is happening our own central Arkansas backyard Please sign up to join shifts when you can! *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*

Speak Now Rally Now - Remove the Regime (Parker) 1pm-3pm Sunday, April 26.  Rally location: S. Parker Rd and Crown Crest Blvd, Parker CO 80134 Suggested parking location: 12626 N Pine Ln St, Parker CO or a nearby business lot, such as restaurants across the street. We've known for a long time what the core problem is. We need to Remove the Regime. Please join us to visibly encourage our fellow citizens to do the right thing.  Help drive the push to vote this cancer out of our country's soul. Repetition works best... If we get a few volunteers to help with a future rally or 2, we will continue weekly. Be part of the good side of history, by maintaining a persistent, visible presence that is impossible to ignore.  We will have music playing on 2 party speakers playing at a reasonable volume, and will broadcast on FM radio if you'd like to listen at your preferred legal sound level on your own FM radio or other FM capable device. Our First Amendment right to free speech and to reasonable voting access has been under attack since this authoritarian regime was allowed to take over our government.  It's like a snowball rolling downhill, gathering speed and more snow.  The longer we wait to divert its path, the more difficult it will be to stop the horrific outcome.  Do it for your children. Do it for your spouse.  Do it for your friends that are unaware of what is happening. Do it for your country. We have loaner rally signs available.  If you only have a few minutes, please stop by for the time that you can spare. Every effort counts. *A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolent action.
