Today's #PhotoOfTheDay takes us to the lighthouse on Grímsey.
The small island of Grímsey is a short plane ride from Akureyri. Famous for being the only place in Iceland north of the Arctic Circle and Miðgarðarkirkja, the church that was made of driftwood, which sadly was destroyed by fire in 2021. The main attractions are now the puffins that nest along its cliffs and the brightly painted lighthouse at the far south-east end of the island.
