Today I made it out of Ellensburg to Sandpoint Idaho for a short decompress with my friend Itchy before heading back to Tucson.
On the voyage, I stopped at the Tokio Weigh Station just West of Spokane, and saw this lovely friend in the adjacent farmers' field/junkyard

There is no love as sacred as that of a child for their puppy, nor of a puppy for their child.
two pieces of good news tonight:
1. the blizzard conditions predicted for the Cascades are meant to start late tonight; when I drove the passes this afternoon they were not scary at all; and
2. the mountains are still lovely

tomorrow in the wee hours I'll be up and on my way to the airport to see my mom, etc.
I'll miss these two like nobody's business.
today's walk was short because #Niko's front paws seemed sore. So we hung out on the couch and he let me hold his back paw while he snoozled
