#Gaza / ICC Seeks Input from right wing pro-Israel lawfare group on Palestinian massacre

#Ynet claims that the ICC in The Hague reached out on its own initiative to nine organizations, mostly Palestinian, and two Israeli entities, including "Shurat HaDin".

Shuarat HaDin claims the court lacks jurisdiction in this case, as the Palestinian Authority is not a member of the Rome Statute that established the ICC, and it is not defined as a "state" that can join the treaty. They also claim that the Palestinian Authority does not have criminal jurisdiction over Israelis, and therefore cannot delegate this jurisdiction to the ICC.

Shurat HaDin portrays itself as a non-governmental organization, but has been accused of serving the interests of the Israeli government. It has been described as a "GONGO" (government operated non-governmental organization) that presents itself as independent but is actually closely affiliated with the Prime Minister's Office and Israeli intelligence.

The organization has initiated lawsuits in the U.S. and other countries, often partnering with local law firms to carry out the litigation, which some have characterized as frivolous and designed to harass.

Adv. Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the founder of Shurat HaDin, said in the past the “the concern for the lives of Palestinians in Gaza is undermining the IDF's ability to win"​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ and appeared to suggest it’s done out of fear of De Hague.
