Galaxy AI Showcase: Generative Wallpapers

Galaxy AI was first unveiled in the Galaxy Unpacked event that took place this January. The full suite is currently available for all flagship devices that are released on 2024, 2023, and 2022. This article showcases the generative wallpaper feature that is part of the Galaxy AI suite.

Generative wallpapers are computer-generated wallpapers that can be made using just a prompt text describing the image that you want. However, Galaxy AI’s approach is different, giving you presets of generative wallpapers under the following categories:

• Imaginary
  • A surreal [OBJECT] made of [OBJECT] in shades of [COLOR and COLOR]
• Night
  • Abstract [COLOR] [PLACE] with [OBJECT]
• Painting
  • A painting of a [OBJECT] and [OBJECT] in the [STYLE] style
• Terrain
  • [REAL] [PLACE] in shades of [COLOR]
• Mineral
  • A close-up image of [MATERIAL] with [COLOR] hues
• Luminous
  • A radiant [COLOR] flower in bloom
• Soft-focus
  • A soft-focus photo of [OBJECT] with [COLOR] hues
• Translucent
  • Translucent [OBJECT] in [COLOR]
• Bloom
  • A hazy image of [OBJECT] on a backdrop of [COLOR] [PLACE]

To start using this feature, hold on to the empty area of your home screen and tap “Wallpaper and Style.” Then, tap on “Change wallpapers.” Scroll down until you see “Generative” icon that looks like this:

Tap on it, and you’ll be presented with all your recently generated wallpapers, as well as all the available sections mentioned above.

To create a new generated wallpaper, select one of the 9 types. For example, we’ve selected “Mineral.” You’ll be presented with a screen that allows you to customize how your image will be generated. Every word that is in bold in the image prompt can be edited.

Then, press any bold word that you want to change, and you’ll see options that you can use to change the prompt. For example, if we want to change the mineral, press the bold mineral name, such as galena. You’ll be able to select one of the types that you can generate your wallpaper with.

For example, if you want to generate a wallpaper that consists of an aquamarine, choose it from the list of materials. When you’re done editing your prompt, click on the Generate button at the bottom of the screen. After a few moments, you’ll be able to see four generated wallpapers that are built on the same prompt.

Choose anything that you like, or click on the Generate button to regenerate the wallpapers. If you found anything you like, press the Set button found at the bottom of each wallpaper. You’ll be able to choose whether to set it on home, lock, or both screens.

Finally, press the Done button when you’ve made your final adjustments. This way, you’ll have generated the wallpaper.
