11/15/72 oklahoma city: 3+ hours of on-point dead, seemingly missing beginning. mix properly set by 11-minute BIRD SONG, keith’s wah-wah grand piano adding subtle ambient bubbling. 2 lesh slots with both BOX OF RAIN & CUMBERLAND BLUES. opening 2nd set, PLAYING IN THE BAND crosses half-hour for 1st time, gradually downshifting into lush, tumbling drift, rather delicate by end. keith’s wah (which i used to assume was rhodes) is subtly defining sound of the era.
