It's strange to see attacks on #fsnotes for the lack of certain features or vice versa. In my opinion, if you don't like something, the source code is open. You can fix the situation by submitting a pull request, or you can create a fork. It's simple.

The latest release of #FSNotes with RTF support, it's about time to go plain text, folks. Updates for #iOS and #macOS are already available in the app store.

Other options I might look into if Bear fails me:

1. #FSNotes
- Ticks boxes, but not as polished UI-wise as others. Still top contender.

2. #iAWriter
- Great for long-form writing, love the UI and fonts, but didn't feel right for note taking

3. Combination of #Obsidian & iA Writer
- Although I prefer non-electron apps, Obsidian is as good as they get. This post from @janpb gave me an idea to get best of the both worlds: https://mastodon.social/@janpb/111265961098503516

#FSNotes 6.6.0 for #macOS has been released on the Mac App Store. The key feature is the much improved startup time of the app. Tens of thousands of notes load instantly. I tried 50,000, all good :)

Doing a big performance upgrade to #FSNotes. Running the app with 20k+ notes is very fast on my old Intel MacBook Pro.
