A β β β β Β½ review of Roseanna's Grave (1997)
A unique, moving, apparently light-hearted comedy about dying (and burials) in an Italian village. The cast is delightful, Reno in a leading role was an excellent choice. His energy is all over the place. Mercedes Ruehl his equal. Aka For Roseanna. I absolutely adored the soundtrack by Trevor Jones, it fitted the feel of the whole film very well. Saddening but also hopeful. I have the OST at home (CD) and for example 'Roseanna's theme' is a heartwarming song.
