Back from a hike in the woods.

The peak of the heat wave over Germany now reached this region, so I decided to do a slow hike without much elevation changes. Luckily, above 900m it was "only" 32°C. Luckily, the relative humidity was just around 35%, so all the sweating at least had an effect.

Back from a hike in the woods. The current European heat wave hasn't affected this region too much so far, it stayed close below 30°C today, so I extended my hike a bit.

Back from a hike in the woods.

Last week was the only week in over 3 years without a single hike for me. Not just due to the bad weather, but also because I was a bit sick. Even though the symptoms were mild, I didn't want to risk making things worse...

But today, we had real summer weather (too hot for me already, but luckily enough clouds so not permanent sunshine), and I figured if I was good enough to go to work during the week, I would be good enough to go for a hike too. I was right.

Ruine Schönrain

Von den Ruinen der näheren und weiteren Umgebung gehört die Ruine Schönrain zu meinen Favoriten. Nicht zuletzt auch, weil sie jederzeit zugänglich ist.

Daher war ich froh, heute wieder einmal eine Gelegenheit zu einem Besuch zu haben. Zwar hat das Wetter nicht so richtig mitgespielt, aber irgendwas ist ja immer.

Das Auf und Ab des Morgennebels

Für den Sonnenaufgang aufzustehen, sah heute nicht lohnenswert aus. Der Nebel war einfach zu hoch,, als dass es sich gelohnt hätte.
Eine Stunde später, sah es schon deutlich besser auf.

Es zeigte sich aber auch wieder, wie unvorhersagbar sich der Nebel verhält. Als ich aus dem Auto stieg sah es so aus, als würde die Sonne jden Moment durchkommen. Aber 20 Minuten später war es wieder so dicht, dass ich die Kamera eingepackt habe.
