Yesterday for no apparent reason I was just about to go upstairs when I saw my two Neewer NW985 flashguns standing there on their stands on my printer, and decided to grab my Nikon D50 and Manfrotto 190 tripod (which were both nearby) and set them up with a blue pop-up background (orig for video but too shiny to use) against the wall and a light stand for one of the flash (The other on the stairs) and shot some self-portrait headshots of me there and then

I’d forgotten how to self-timer on the D50, I used to use the D50 in simple home studio situations all the time nearly 20 years ago (but with Nikon flashguns (SB-24, SB-27, one on optical trigger the other cabled to a PC-socket hotshot adaptor) or also Metz CT-60 for main, or for serious stuff, a varying number of Elinchrom flash units (still have about four left over with soft boxes etc))

I haven’t done any of this for years – and all I was doing was going upstairs when I just grabbed the flashguns, then camera, then tripod and so on
