#HackerNews is full of discussions about something named #FiveThirtyEight. There are parts of the planet where there are people like me who have never even heard of the thing, which I read was founded almost 2 decades ago (and is now already dead for a couple of years), until today.

This is yet another reminder that not everything big in the U.S.A. is well-known outwith the U.S.A.. It was not even a ripple in my life.
